Apple Blossom Market

Wednesday, May 24, 2017 4pm - 7pm

Location: Wolfville Farmer's Market

Join us for your mid-week top up of groceries with products from all product categories, while this week enjoying your $10 Market Supper with all the regular deliciousness plus some added apple-inspired foods on the menu. We will of course be adding apple to your complimentary serving of salad with maple dressing and you can delight in Apple Blossom Bouquets at your table. There will be a hands on grafting demonstration with Lee Gillespie of Gillespie Farms and at 6 pm Richard Hennigar will offer a talk and demo on apple tree pruning.

Valley Ghost Walks Present: Kentville’s Apple Blossom Haunt

Penook, Horton’s Corner, The Devil’s Half Acre, Kentville. The Shire Town of Kings has certainly been a lot of different things to a lot of different people.

Join Jerome the GraveKeeper and his ghostly friends as they lead you on a family-friendly, historical production as part of the 85th Apple Blossom Festival. Now in our 10th year, Valley Ghost Walks celebrate the incredible tales from the incredibly-rich Annapolis Valley.

These 2-hour walks start at the outside steps of the Cornwallis Inn (325 Main St.). Family-friendly and rain or shine. Indoor location available in case of really bad weather. Check online and facebook for all updates.

This is our first of seven Kentville Ghost Walks this year.

Blossom Fun Run & Fitness Fair

The Fitness Fair will be back once again and we are proud to say we will be bringing back the Apple Blossom Fun Run, which was once a traditional event! There will be a 1k and 5k event.

Festival of Crafts

The Annual “Festival of Crafts” is held each year during the Apple Blossom Festival weekend. 

Join our artisans and crafters from across the maritimes at the NSCC Kingstec Campus, as we celebrate the diversity of handmade arts and crafts at our Annual Festival of Crafts. They have been carefully selected and will be proudly displaying their work. 
No matter what you are looking for, you’ll be sure to find it among the artisans and crafters participating in this much anticipated show. 
Uncover one-of-a-kind, handcrafted treasures that are perfect for holidays, birthdays, weddings, and just because gifts for friends, family or yourself!

When we eat together, good things happen. Join the President’s Choice team and Tracy Moore from Cityline for an #EatTogether and taste some of Canada’s favourite meals! It’s all part of our coast-to-coast tour to discover which foods inspire Canadians to eat together.  Nothing brings us together like eating together. First 35 people will receive a meal. Those in queue after will receive a butter tart.

 

Freedom of the Town

Come watch the Freedom of the Town parade on Main Street in front of the Town Hall, beginning at 11:30am. The parade is a military spectacle where the members of Detachment Aldershot will march through the Town with a Light Armoured Vehicle to demonstrate the bond between the base and the Town. The public is encouraged to observe the parade.

The 2017 Apple Blossom Duck Race, in its 22nd consecutive year, has become a signature fun-filled family, festival event. This includes two races: family (little rubber duckies) and corporate (duck decoys), food and beverages, face painting, and other entertainment for children.
This is the principle fundraising activity for the Rotary Club of Wolfville and the Rotary Club of New Minas Sunrise and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Annapolis Valley. For more information visit www.appleblossomduckrace.ca.
